Friendship, frivolity, and fantastic connections!
I have been a member of the APW for almost 11 years. I attended my first networking event in October of 2000, about two weeks after I moved to Denver from Virginia. I did not know a soul here (besides my Mom, and that relationship was long in the making.) I attended the Annual Dinner with Ann Broderick, CPA a partner at RGO CPAs, Tax Consultants and Business Advisors. I met some super fun women at the event and re-connected with one of them the very next evening. We went to happy hour, which turned into happy night! The rest is history; shall we say. In fact, she was the maid of honor at my wedding three years later and is a good friend to this day. I like to joke that somehow everyone in my life is separated by just one or two degrees from the APW. My maid of honor, my best friend, my dinner club, my business associates, my business partner, and my referral sources. My APW membership has been one of the best investments I have made, both personally, professionally, and philanthropically.
